Ring finger reaches up
W is reached by the left ring finger (from S). O is reached by the right ring finger (from L).
W and O are typed by reaching the ring finger of each hand up to the top row. W reaches from S; O reaches from L.
O is the last vowel you need to learn. After this lesson you will know A, E, I, O, and U, which means you can type almost any common English word.
W and O move the ring fingers to the top row for the first time. The ring finger is weaker than the index and middle fingers, so take extra care.
W is reached by the left ring finger (from S). O is reached by the right ring finger (from L).
With O you now know A, E, I, O, and U. This unlocks most of the English vocabulary.
The ring finger tends to move together with the middle or pinky finger. Practice isolating it.
Reach your ring fingers up for W and O. This lesson completes all five vowels.
These are the exact finger assignments for this lesson. Keep the rest of your fingers relaxed and avoid lifting the whole hand.
The ring and middle fingers are linked by tendons. Consciously hold the middle finger still when the ring finger moves.
E and W are adjacent. W is directly above S. If you keep missing, realign from the home row bumps.
I and O are adjacent. O is directly above L. Return to L between presses to maintain alignment.
The ring finger is weaker. Make sure you press firmly enough to register each key.
The next lesson finishes the top row with Q and P, typed by the pinky fingers.
